Dangerous Love
A couple of weeks ago at the soup kitchen I volunteer at once a month (it's run by a sister church of ours), there was a break in work and we were standing around talking and somehow the war in Iraq came up; now I have increasingly found it difficult to align with either Right or Left on anything, but I have been bothered by our President's view of freedom being spread by the spread of Democracy, I mean shouldn't he, a Christian, know that the path of freedom lies through Christ Jesus?
The point was brought up that this whole giving them freedom thing isn't working as well or as fast as we were led to believe, and then the idea of militarily imposing regime change was questioned, and I asked why we a "Judeo-Christian" are "putting our trust in chariots". Then I was asked what, if we as Christians are concerned with the way people are being mistreated (as we should be) how change should be effected?
Love; that was Christ's answer and should be ours as well!
What would have happened if instead of spending billions on armaments and fuel we overwhelmed the country in question with well placed unconditional aid(feeding the poor, giving them good meds); if we did that without pushing an agenda, then when people ask why we are doing this we can tell them that we have been given much and are commanded to feed the poor and care for the fatherless and widow.
To quote Johnny Cash in Walk the Line when told that christians would be turned off by him cheering up rapists and murderers in prison "Well they're not christian then"
Love CAN change things! Love is how Christ brought about the new creation, and it is His Love through us that will bring about the fulfillment of His Kingdom on earth, not having our doctrines perfectly aligned.

Comment difficulties
So I fiddled with my comment options and it seems that I somehow disabled them. I believe I have it fixed now, so comment away!

Some kids try to put everything in their mouth...Timothy tries to put them on his head...and it stuck. "Uhhh! Help me Mama!"
Noelle enjoying Half-Life2 (Her favorite part is when I die and the screen goes all red)
All I can say is, I am one lucky guy!
"Did Mama make me a new apron?" "Did she?" "She did!! It has cool things on it like trucks!! Can I make scrambled eggs?"

Blessed Easter
We had a wonderful Holy Week (busy too, with church or church related engagements all but Monday and Wednesday). The Easter Vigil was even better than last year, possibly due to the fact that there was a baptism this year, also both of my sister's families that are local worshiped with us.
Easter was fun we had a breakfast potluck at church followed by another baptism and joyous worship with the choir processing through the congregation saying: "He is alive!" over an over, children ringing bells joyfully during the hymns (other times too, as children often don't stay still for long) thunderous ALLELUIAS and beautiful sunshine when pouring rain was forecast. We feasted with the Eyres, Aunt Marilyn, the Enloes, and the Hathaways; then us guys went target shooting, the kids hunted candy filled eggs, and we all visited into the evening.

Revision
Well, Noelle's Easter dress (shown in previous posts) was actually too small for her, so we had to exchange it today, and found the dress we had originally spotted and wanted a couple months ago, in the right size! The dress we took back was 3-6 months, and too tight in the chest. The new one fits her perfectly, and is 9 months.
